You already know the rules of poker and are now ready to play. Before you hit the tables, here are a few final tips.

Be vigilant
Pay attention to who is playing aggressively or loosely (with high stakes and many hands) and who is playing tight (quick folds, only strong hands). You should only play tight players if you have a strong hand.
Keep an eye on the chips
If someone has more chips than you, be careful – a mistake could mean your end. Does he have fewer chips? Then you have the advantage.
No suitable cards
Your cards do not match any of the community cards? Leave the vehicle as soon as someone sits down.
Ace in hand
An ace on your opening hand does not automatically mean that it is a winning hand. Only play if your other card is either the same suit or at least a 10.
Starting hands with potential
Stay in the game if you have pairs before the flop (7-7, 9-9), two face cards (K-D, D-B) or cards with which you can make a straight or a flush (e.g. 8-9 or 6-7 of the same suit). With all other cards you fold – unless you are in the blind position.
Good card? Bring it up!
In No-Limit Texas Hold’em, it is possible to bet on any amount at any time. So if you have really excellent cards, bet high.
Wait and watch

If you are one of the first players whose turn it is, play fewer hands. You are still unaware of your opponents’ moves. If they raise, you take the full risk.
Betting is preferable to calling.
Remember: poker is a game of psychology. Therefore, you should try to gain control of it.
Be patient
Make an effort to wait for considered moves. Before you make a decision, think about the course of the previous betting rounds and your opponent’s possible cards. Take your time.
Play live
Gain as much experience in live poker as you can. If you know how you should behave in a live environment, you can focus more on your opponents and worry less about your own behavior.
